Interpretive text from Nimiipuu Tribal Committee:
"Hide Leggings were the aboriginal attire for men and were constructed from 1 hide, per legging, utilizing the natural shape of the hide that was used construct this item. This was to pay respect for the animal that provided for our people, by retaining the natural qualities and character of the natural shape of the hide and animal. They are also decorated with quilled strips, which was the antecedent to use of glass trade beads as decoration."
